What's a foodie to do?

I was just told I need to go on a diet otherwise my diabetes will manifest into a daily pill popping oblivion. Things I've added to my diet: salads, fruits, whole grain bread, milk, yogurt. We had lunch today at Barnaby's, I haven't been there in ages. I had their pesto chicken salad sandwich with artichokes, and in the words of Rachael Ray "yum-o". Couple of things though, somebody was a little heavy handed on the mayo and it was served with chips (not good for my diet). And boy do they need a rug or two in that place, I couldn't hear our waiter or J.
Onward to dinner, my first attempt at hot and sour thai soup (thom yum gung) turned out quite well. Definitely a good use for the overgrown lemongrass in the patio. Who doesn't want a hot steaming bowl of this
